Life in Pai

This will be my last post out of the Kung Fu Retreat and probably from Pai also. On Sunday I will move from Pai 2 hours north into a monastery in order to learn more deeply to meditate. I don’t know how long I will stay. My goal is 10 days but it might be just to intense since I’m also thinking about doing silent meditation. We’ll see. I won’t have access to the internet during this time and if possible I throw my phone in the bin during this time.

Anyway, I think it is a good idea to write a bit about Pai. The town is a melting pot of alternative people, who are into organic food, yoga, meditation and not only in one place you can smoke strange things. The town is really touristic. I haven’t seen any typical Thai city yet but this is not it. However, you can find any kind of food and dig into the alternative scene. You want a steak? Got it (although not good)! You want to have a shamanic reading? Available! I haven’t tried out anything other than enjoying a bit the night life on the nights prior to the free days.

To be honest, there is not a lot of things to do other than the things I did already. Especially in this pollution (and drought) the mountains and forests are not enjoyable.

By the way, I finished all 66 routines of Shuang Yang (special form of Qigong), which makes me very happy as I’d like to keep practicing this in my daily life. Any time you want to learn it…let me know. Maybe this is my next source of income 😉

Alright, I’ll keep you posted after the next step. No worries if you don’t hear from me in the next 2 weeks.

Love,
Matthias

    1. Hi Martina, Yoga steht auch noch auf meiner Todo-Liste. Hab mal kurz was von Yin Yoga gezeigt bekommen und das möchte ich gerne ausprobieren. Gibt ja so viele Arten. Bei Qigong würde ich gerne noch andere Arten kennenlernen. Mal sehen wann und wo 😉 Drück Dich und wünsche Dir eine tolle Zeit!
