Travel blues and other dis-eases (Caprivi strip, Waterberg Plateau NP and Ethosa NP)

After taking over the car in Kasane we continued on to discover a bit more of the Caprivi strip. It is a beautiful area and there are so many big rivers around. We had several campsites along rivers but the one called Ngepi Camp was a highlight. Already the way there proofed to be worth the journey:

The best in the beginning already? (Victoria Falls and Chobe NP)

The start into this adventure was typically me. After missing leaving the train in Freising, running through the main train station in Munich and taking a taxi for 90 EUR towards the airport I arrived still 1.5 hours early at the gate 🙄
But rather that than missing this flight. Because what I have experienced this last week is absolutely stunning.

On Sunday I arrived at the monastery Wat Pa Tam Wua after a nice 2 hour bus ride up north through nice forestal scenery.

I arrived right in time for the food offering. So, I was thrown head first into the daily schedule. How does a day of a student on his way to enlightenment look like?

Life in Pai

This will be my last post out of the Kung Fu Retreat and probably from Pai also. On Sunday I will move from Pai 2 hours north into a monastery in order to learn more deeply to meditate. I don’t know how long I will stay. My goal is 10 days but it might be just to intense since I’m also thinking about doing silent meditation. We’ll see. I won’t have access to the internet during this time and if possible I throw my phone in the bin during this time.
